Christmas Mini Hoop Decoration

Get yourself into the swing of a creative Christmas by stitching your very own decorative hoop using Christmassy fabrics, sparkly threads, embellishments and hand stitches. The result is a sweet handmade decoration which will be treasured for years to come; or could be given as a personalised gift to a loved one for them to treasure, year on year. The workshop is suitable for complete beginners to intermediate ones.

In the workshop you will layer festive fabrics to create a simple colour scheme, then start to build up textures using a variety of ribbons and trims, beads, sequins and hand embroidery, with the fabric patterns as your guide. The stitches themselves will range from simple straight stitches to more complicated knots and everything in-between. A freestyle way of looking at hand embroidery, there is no right-or-wrong and you can be as creative as you feel! Each hoop will be personal and unique, and finished with a ribbon bow to hang it on the tree.

At the end of the class you should have completed your little hoop, although for those who are enjoying the slow stitching pace, a handout and personalised guidance throughout the session will provide you with the skills and knowledge to finish it at home.
