Sussex in Autumn Stitchscape Workshop

Blazing autumnal colours will be filling your embroidery hoops in this creative Stitchscape workshop. Whether you choose a fiery coloured woodland or the rolling fields of the Sussex Downs in Autumn, your specific subject is up to you and will be creatively interpreted through textile collage and hand stitches. The workshop is suitable for complete beginners to intermediate ones.

In the workshop you will be shown how to layer fabrics to build up your chosen scene and use a variety of trimmings and embroidery techniques to add depth and texture. The stitches themselves will range from simple straight stitches to more complicated drizzle stitches or the marmite-esque bullion knot and everything in-between. A freestyle way of looking at hand embroidery, there is no right-or-wrong and you can be as creative as you feel! Each hoop will be personal and unique.

At the end of the class you will be well into creating your hoop although may not have finished. The handout provided and personalised tuition during the day will provide you with the necessary tools and information to complete the hoop at your leisure after the class has finished.
