This is a really lovely hand dyed blue batik fabric from John Louden. Their batik fabrics are produced in a unique cottage industry by specialist craftsmen who pass their skills from generation to generation.
Batik fabric by nature is usually a really tightly woven cloth and can be used right up to the edge of the fabric. Each side is different and each little section is different which makes it a totally unique way of decorating the material, and each thing you make with it unique too.
This particular fabric is hand dyed and 100% cotton. Due to the nature of how it has been made there may be some loose dye on the surface.
It has been cut up into manageable fat quarter size pieces. This particular fabric has worked out to be approximately 61cm x 45cm.
Please note that because it is hand dyed, your colours may differ slightly from those shown in the photos. The colour itself may also differ due to looking at it on a screen.
